Version 2.1

A lot has arrived since 1.2. This update gathers it together — more daily puzzles to return to, a few new ways to play, and a calmer, clearer board.

Play your way

Tap a square, then tap a number — or pick up a number and paint it across the grid. Your selection stays put, so you can adjust without re-tapping.

Daily puzzles

One shared puzzle a day, each with its own leaderboard and streak. Set a reminder, and see friends' times right from the home screen.

  • The Daily — the classic daily puzzle
  • Daily Mini — a quick one-to-three-minute solve
  • Daily X — an X-Sudoku, where both diagonals count too
  • The Twist — the day's board replayed under a changing rule

New ways to play

Hardcore hides pencil notes, 3 Strikes ends after three wrong entries, and Zen tucks the timer away. Your Dailies always stay standard, so times stay fair.

Board styles (Sudoku Pro)

Play with shapes, fruit, or Wordoku letters in place of numbers. Wordoku hides a nine-letter word in every puzzle.

Step-by-step hints

A hint first flags any mistakes, then can clear them so your notes return, then points out a square you can solve — explaining each step on the board.

Across your devices

Start a puzzle on your iPhone and pick it up on your iPad, kept in sync over iCloud.

Hands-free

Open the day's puzzle with Siri or Shortcuts, or find it in Spotlight.

A clearer board

On iPad, the grid now leads the layout in both portrait and landscape. Pencil notes are easier to read, the winning screen and daily prompt have been refreshed, and VoiceOver narrates every move.
